Strategy
Where can AI genuinely create competitive advantage, revenue, productivity or better customer experiences?
We translate business priorities into a practical AI strategy and prioritised roadmap.
Fractional Chief AI Officer
Senior AI leadership for organisations that know AI matters—but need someone accountable for turning opportunity into strategy, governance, execution and measurable results.
We work alongside your CEO, executive team and existing technology leaders to decide where AI creates value, where it creates risk, what to prioritise and how to make adoption actually happen.
AI Strategy. Governance. Execution. Adoption. Accountability.
StrategyGovernanceExecutionValueWhat is a Fractional Chief AI Officer?
A Fractional Chief AI Officer is a part-time executive who owns an organisation's AI strategy, governance, investment decisions, execution oversight, adoption and measurement. The organisation gains senior AI leadership and accountability without immediately hiring a permanent Chief AI Officer.
The real problem
Across most organisations, AI has already arrived.
Employees are using ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and dozens of other tools. Departments are running experiments. Vendors are promising transformation. The board is asking what the AI strategy is.
But nobody has clear executive ownership of the whole picture. That creates the AI Ownership Gap:
You don't necessarily need another software platform. You need someone accountable for making AI work across the business.

Executive ownership
A Fractional Chief AI Officer gives your organisation executive-level AI leadership without requiring a permanent C-suite appointment. We work alongside your leadership team to own the AI agenda across five areas.
Strategy
We translate business priorities into a practical AI strategy and prioritised roadmap.
Governance
We establish policies, decision rights, risk controls and governance structures appropriate to your organisation.
Execution
We help select use cases, evaluate technology, make build-vs-buy decisions and move high-value initiatives into production.
Adoption
We help leadership and teams redesign workflows, build capability and integrate AI into daily operations.
Accountability
We establish milestones, adoption measures, ROI metrics and executive reporting so AI is managed like a business investment—not an innovation experiment.
Leadership signals
You probably don't need one simply because AI is fashionable. You may need one if several of these sound familiar:
If that's your organisation, the issue isn't lack of AI activity. It's lack of coordinated AI leadership.

AI recommendations should serve your business—not somebody else's software quota.
Where appropriate, that may include technologies from OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Google or specialist providers.
There is no prize for having the most AI tools. The goal is to have the right capabilities producing the right outcomes.

Executive questions
A Fractional Chief AI Officer is an experienced AI executive who works with an organisation on a part-time basis to lead AI strategy, governance, execution, adoption and measurement. The organisation receives senior AI leadership without immediately employing a permanent Chief AI Officer.
The role typically owns AI strategy, identifies and prioritises use cases, establishes governance, supports technology and vendor decisions, oversees implementation, builds internal capability and reports progress to executive leadership.
Consulting is normally based around a project. Fractional leadership is based around ongoing accountability. The Fractional CAIO becomes part of the leadership operating cadence and remains responsible for progressing the organisation's AI agenda.
Many organisations do not. A permanent CAIO begins to make sense when the scale, complexity and strategic importance of AI requires full-time executive ownership. Fractional leadership lets the organisation build that capability before committing to a permanent role.
No. The Fractional CAIO works alongside existing technology leadership and focuses specifically on business value, AI strategy, adoption and governance.
Where implementation is required, we work alongside internal teams and appropriate delivery partners to move approved use cases into production. The Fractional CAIO remains focused on business outcomes, architecture decisions, governance and accountability rather than becoming an outsourced development department.
Some workflow improvements can generate value rapidly; larger AI transformations take longer. Our priority is to identify opportunities with credible time-to-value while building the operating capability required for larger initiatives.
There is no universal answer. Technology selection should follow the business problem, security requirements, integration environment, economics and risk profile—not the current popularity of a particular model.
It needs AI ownership.
If AI is already appearing across your organisation but nobody owns the strategy, governance and outcomes, we should talk.
In one executive conversation, we'll establish where you are, where the biggest opportunity appears to be and whether Fractional AI leadership is actually the right solution. If it isn't, we'll tell you.
Strategy. Governance. Execution. Adoption. Accountability.
